Hot-dip galvanized seamless steel pipes and electro-galvanized seamless steel pipes are two common anti-corrosion seamless pipe products, but they differ greatly in production process, anti-corrosion performance and application scenarios. Choosing the right type can effectively reduce costs and extend service life.
Anti-corrosion performance is the core difference between the two. The zinc layer thickness of hot-dip galvanized seamless pipes is 80-120μm, which has strong wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can resist harsh environments such as humidity, acid and alkali for a long time, with a service life of more than 30 years in general environments. The zinc layer of electro-galvanized seamless pipes is only 10-30μm, which is thin and easy to fall off. Its anti-corrosion effect is limited, and it is suitable for dry and mild environments, with a service life of 5-10 years.
In terms of application scenarios, hot-dip galvanized seamless pipes are widely used in outdoor engineering, water supply and drainage, petroleum and chemical industry, bridge and construction steel structures, etc., which require high anti-corrosion performance. Electro-galvanized seamless pipes are more suitable for indoor decoration, light industry, electrical equipment and other fields with low anti-corrosion requirements and emphasis on appearance neatness.
